Plant Family: Scrophulariaceae Overview Introduction Rehmannia is very popular in Chinese medicine, where it is considered to be a longevity tonic, and one of the 50 fundamental herbs.  The species name glutinosa comes from glutinous, referring to the sticky nature of the root.  The Rehmannia root offered by Our Sacred Garden has been prepared in the traditional way with an infusion of yellow wine and black beans. Typical Preparations The root may be prepared as a decoction.  In order to prevent feelings of heaviness or indigestion, prepare with Cardamom or Ginger. Precautions Specific: No known precautions.
